Li Lian Tan, RA
Principal
Li Lian Tan founded LLT Architects in 2011. Prior to forming her own practice, she worked for twelve years at architecture offices in Boston and New York, including Leers Weinzapfel Associates, Kyu Sung Woo Architects and Pei Cobb Freed & Partners.
Li Lian was born and raised in Singapore. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a concentration in Finance at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and worked as a Financial Analyst at the real estate investment fiduciary of Aldrich Eastman & Waltch (now AEW Capital).
While crunching numbers at her day job, Li Lian spent her evenings learning to draw and spent a summer attending the Career Discovery Program at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. The following year, she enrolled in the Master of Architecture Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She graduated in 2000 and was nominated for the SOM Travel Fellowship.
Li Lian embraces all that the Big Apple has to offer, but finds herself retreating to wide open spaces, every so often, to preserve her sanity.
